What will you do as a Continuous Improvement Engineer?

As a Continuous Improvement Engineer, you are the face of continuous improvement within your assigned plant. You play a crucial role in optimizing processes, with particular attention to people, machines, and materials. You don’t do this from behind a desk, but right on the shop floor — where the real action happens. Together with employees, you actively work toward set goals to elevate efficiency, productivity, and quality.

  • You are responsible for setting up, developing, and executing improvement projects in the field of Operational Excellence.
  • Through thorough analyses of work processes and challenges, you arrive at a clear problem definition. Based on this, you proactively propose improvement initiatives, develop action plans, and monitor the progress of all actions taken.
  • Together with your project team, you implement concrete improvements that optimize existing processes.
  • In addition, you actively participate in Operational Excellence audits, which you prepare yourself and whose actions you follow up closely.
  • You also play a key role in strengthening the continuous improvement culture within the organization. You support the Plant Manager and the Plant Team with analyses and dashboards and report on progress achieved using clear KPIs.
  • Furthermore, you coach, guide, and train Yellow and Green Belts in improvement techniques and tools, thereby fostering a proactive mindset and delivering tangible results.

What do you bring to the table?

  • You possess a Bachelor’s level of education and have at least 2–3 years of work experience in a production environment. Experience in the Food industry is a plus.
  • Strong technical background, preferably as a Production Engineer or Technical Engineer, with a hands-on approach on the shop floor.
  • Able to build bridges and navigate easily across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English.
  • Natural leader who thrives on guiding and coaching people.
