As a Case Manager Absence & Employability, you are the central link in the absence management process. You combine people-focused guidance with structured process management, ensuring that absenteeism is handled with care and in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
You coach employees and support managers, while also maintaining oversight of absence cases, liaising with the occupational physician and occupational health service, and carefully applying the Improved Gatekeeper Act (Wet verbetering poortwachter). In doing so, you contribute to a healthy, engaged, and sustainable organization. In addition, you act as a sparring partner for the HR team and serve as the first point of contact for employees and managers with questions regarding absence, reintegration, or employability.
Your responsibilities include:
- Guiding employees experiencing (impending) absence, with a focus on recovery and sustainable employability
- Coaching managers in conducting absence-related conversations and implementing preventive measures; supporting them in structuring absence guidance and preparing conversations when needed
- Managing absence cases and monitoring statutory deadlines in accordance with the Improved Gatekeeper Act
- Ensuring accurate and timely documentation in the absence management system
- Maintaining contact with the occupational physician, occupational health service, and other external stakeholders
- Identifying trends, risks, and opportunities related to absenteeism and employability
- Contributing to policies and initiatives focused on health, vitality, and sustainable employability, thereby helping to prevent absence within the organization
